Problem
Workplace safety rules were scattered across many documents, and only a fraction were actually read. Workers asked colleagues, and answers varied depending on who they asked.
What was built
- An internal assistant answering safety-rule questions from the company's official documents.
- Clause/source citations on every answer, so answers can be checked.
- An 'not in the documents' answer for out-of-scope questions — a feature, not a shortcoming.
What was not built
This section is required: we write what was deliberately not built as clearly as what was built. That is what keeps a project from ballooning.
- Not a replacement for safety officers.
- Does not make incident decisions.
- Does not access employee data.
